Long time no post!
How is everyone?

I rescued 3 Jaguars today.

They were in a 10 gallon tank for about 3 weeks
Before that they were in a larger tank (size unknown) but they were sickly due to water quality the smallest of the one was beat pretty bad by a pacu.

The Small flap that makes the smallest one look like his mouth is open is a hole in it's lower jaw.

All three are already doing better now after 8 hours.
I got them with ICK so I'm running the temp at 87 F right now .
A touch of fin rot and probably some other problems.

The smallest one damaged for life from the pacu.
Then all three of them tossed a 10 gallon tank for the last 3 weeks that I know of.

YES ALL THREE IN ONE 10 G tank.

I got them today.
Moved my African Congos out of the 160 and added the Jags.

They are doing great right now with only a Sengal and Dino Bircher for tank mates.
As soon as I get the ICK under control I'll go ahead and lower the temp to keep them a little more docile.

Male is 10 inches
Female is 7 inches
And the smallest at 5 inches that is physically damaged.

I think they were also starving as they ate today even after the ride home a water drip and put in a new tank.

Anyways figured I''d share my new fish. My Fla. Gar passed last Feb and I just had the 10 Congos and Bircher and sengal in the tank waiting to find something that would be a good match for the tank.

Two pix.
1st is in the 10 gallon tank
2nd is in their new home.

Good job on the rescue!
You could also add some salt to help get the ick under control and some extra areation would help keep the O2 levels up with the higher water temperatures.

Wow, those are some big fish for a 10g. Kinda impressed someone managed to keep them alive for three weeks in a such a small tank!

Thanks.
It's not the worst I've seen in a 10G ( Oscars a LFS saved were)

I did do a 15 G water change and add marine salt to the 15 G added just for the ICK
and there is a pretty heavy air bubbler in the opposite corner of the photos. one of the hurricane Cat 5 air pumps.

Gonna see if they will eat meal worms today or tomorrow.
They were eating pellets yesterday and these guys are way to big for pellets.
I'm hoping to get them on frozen like I do most larger fish just for ease of feeding and cost effectiveness.

I'm pretty sure they are going to be alright now though.
They made it through the night.

WOW! Those jaguars are gorgeous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love that big one, those are my favorite kind. They are kind of hard to find, if I saw one local, I would scoop him up.

Nice fish, glad you saved them. Imo keep them on a decent pellet as a staple it's better for them, and a bit of frozen as a treat

Beautiful fish you have there. If I didn't know better I would swear they are smiling in the pictures taken after the move.

Thanks
I honestly thought they were lost yesterday morning.
All three laying on the bottom barely any gill movement, solid white ICK, and clouded eyes.

Did a 30 gallon water change, hit them with prime, more salt, way more air, and melafix.

Did another 30 gallon change today and added more prime left the lights off for the last two days.

Turned the lights back on tonight @ 11 PM EST and White ICK is gone, eyes are almost 100% clear.

I think they are starting to stabilize finally and really are going to make it.

I guess I know why they are considered a advanced care fish now. And to think I was wondering what that meant ?!?!?!?!

I don't know who had it worse the last three days me or the fish.

I will say these are some real tough fish to make it through what they have been exposed to.

2 or 3 tank changes in a month, one 3 week stay in a 10 G.
A 45 minute ride in a 5 gallon bucket home with me.
Exposed to multiple water changes and chemicals in side of 72 hours.

Hopefully I can try feeding them tomorrow again since they ate the 1st night Sat but not since then.

Whew!
Mr. Fish's wild ride for them that's for sure.

Normally I'd fix them up and find proper homes for the things I rescue.
BUT!
After what it took to save these I'm going to keep them.
Besides the wife likes them.

Pix of them from when I turned the lights on tonight.

As you can see still a touch of cloudy eye but way more clear then they were yesterday.
ICK seems gone but so is there slime coat most of that was vacuumed out this morning with the water change since it was just floating around the tank.
