rescued these two today, im presuming theyre pretty stunted as their eyes are huge for their bodies and one is pretty beat up, was wondering if his eye is likely to heal?

ive put plenty of stress coat in the water and treated with aquarium salt, any other ideas on how to help these guys get better?thanks

Those guys look like they have been through bloody hell.

They dont look too terribly stunted, but they are covered in ick. Take care of that before you start dealing with the eye. Theres a chance it could clear up on its own, but from the looks it looks like bacterial, possible parasitic. But like I said, clean water, no ick, and good foods might clear it up in a couple weeks. Keeping the temp at 85 will help them heal

The fins with heal and with careful care so will the eyes. I don't think that it is Ich, but rather bubbles...I could be wrong thou. Great looking fish!

yeah it is just bubbles from the filter, made sure they had no ick before i took them, one of my green severums eyes turned like that when another one nipped him on it but healed up in a day so im hoping this will be likewise.

the people who i got them from didnt have a clue, their water felt about 90 degrees, they had these guys in a tank with malawis and didnt even know they were rotkeils, which is extremely odd as these fish are extremely rare where i live, these are only the second ones i have seen in this country in about 4 years!

need a bit of urgent help, the rotkeils were getting bullied in my tank so moved them into my dads where nothing would annoy them but they seem to have got super stressed and im pretty sure the smaller one is close to death, its permanently stripey and just hangs at the surface gasping

any help or advice would be greatly appreciated

Stress bars don't mean your fish are near death. They can be brought on by a lot of different things. How long have they been in the new tank? Are you sure there's enough oxygen if the smaller fish is gasping for air? How big is this tank, what's the temperature, and what other fish are in the tank?

I'd turn the lights off and let them settle in. They've been through a lot. Abuse with a previous owner, a move to your house, harassment by tankmates, a second move to this new tank, etc.

If they are feeling well enough, you may see some tetras disappear. They are severums, after all.
