Hi, Ive took 2 sick tetras from a tank that isnt mine in order to help them. the tank is pretty neglected as water changes being made every4-6 weeks. both of the fish has some kind of external infection that look like patches and buldges on the skin and fins, one of them has his upper jaw looking very bad ,like the infection consume it and the other have severe fin rot on his tail.right nw i took them together to a clen 40 L tank with filteration, oxigen and 25C and i started treatment with sera baktopur. Ill add pictures later but from what ive described do you have idea what is this disease and whats the way to treat it? also do you have exp with this med? is it good? thnk you!

One of my serpae's have what might be the same problem for the last few weeks. Loss of colour and skin/scales that looks like its flaking off in patches. They aren't sores though. He's eating fine but he hides a bit more than usual. I also don't know whats going on.

Kudos to you for the rescue mate!

Would post pics and that’ll help the most.

It didnt ent well, ill try again later. Audaxcity what did you do? did you treat him someway?

I have no idea what it is so I didn't give a specific treatment, but I did a big water change and dosed a bit more epsom salt. He's behaving quite normally actually, the "hiding" was just me being paranoid. The flaking isn't getting better or worse.

Can it close it mouth? Does it feed properly?

Don’t think it’ll work out. Even with the medications. They aren’t eating because not able to eat then it’ll perish. I’d suggest getting some clove oil and putting the fish down.
