Rescued this one from the food fish market..... what is interesting is the colour on this guy. I have kept albino clarias before.... this is very different.
Instead of the pale pinkish/ off-white-ish colouration it's more on the yellow side.
Is there anything called xanthic clarias?
It's very stressed right now..... hope it will get better.

VERY NICE and yes I would say he is xantic DAMN I HATE US. LAWS

Thanks guys! But am a bit confused here with the correct ID..... isn't xanthic ones supposed to have black eyes?
With the yellow colouration and the red eyes, I'm thinking of it as a Lutino.... but not sure if it's used for fish as in the case with birds.

Or is it just an albino with extra yellow pigmentation?

Anyone would like to clear me up here?.... BTW it's most definitely WC.... not a dyed specimen.

He's a cool looking Clarias. Nice rescue. Do you have him in a filtered tank now?

Thanks bro! He's pretty cool.... have never seen such a colour morph before on clarias.
I'll add filteration soon.... actually very busy with my job. Got the fish only quite late at night.... then had to buy whatever tank was available and got it setup as soon as I could.
I'm planning to set it up properly with tank top, substrate etc. at the end of this month.... hope to get some better pics then.

Sorry for your loss Dav. Would have loved to see your golden morph.

This one seems like Clarias cavernicola found in a cave in Namibia, which is an endangered species. Also, yellow Clarias are rarely caught by fishermen in some other places.
