So since everyone is posting new threads with new polys in the last 24 hours, I figured I'd show you guys what I picked up last week (covertly!)
My wife an I occasionally travel around South Florida and check out fish shops when we get a chance, it's a fun outing and some of the places down in the Miami area are actually kind of neat sometimes with that "Who knows what you'll find" feel. In our travels a month or so ago I had noticed a couple of REALLY washed out Laps (I couldn't tell they were laps at the time, that's how washed out they were), the LFS had them on teal gravel which made them GRAY, no color, no patterns, just gross and bland. They were monstrously overpriced. So last week I stopped back in and they were both still there, but had grown frighteningly thin, but were otherwise healthy, so I talked the price down a good bit because they were just going to languish there until the shop owner either took them home, or they starved to death. Since then I've been feeding them both up to a healthy weight, and their patterns are starting to come back. The LFS guy said he believed them to be WC... I doubt it just because I never see WC fish down here, but if any of you guys have opinions I'd like to hear them... I believe them to just be standard laps, but you guys are much better at visual ID than I am. Enjoy!
P.S Enjoy the bonus Congi- I can't resist snapping a photo when it's out in all it's glory
