i'm not sure if this is the right spot to post this. but i'm looking forward to resealing a 135g tank. any how-tos or guide to get started?

- cut out all old silicone
- clean with rubbing alcohol
- mask off silicone line with masking tape
- run new bead of sealant
- use back of spoon or wet fingers to smooth out bead
- remove tape
- let dry
- add water
- enjoy :)

Let dry for at least a week

GE Window & Doors I, less than $5.00 per tube at a hardware store

Make sure its 100% Silicone and does not contain bio seal

At walmart it's $3.50, get it there. And whatever you do, please do it in a well ventilated area. Not in a small 10 x 6 room. I did mine indoors since it's damn freezing out and our garage has no heat. It was a 55 and omg:eek:. I'll never do that again, about died from the smell. There is a reason why they say do it in a well-ventilated building. And don't use the acetone, use rubbing alcohol. I put a cloth in the acetone to get it wet and then I picked it up and my fingers started to tingle(huh, that's weird) then I looked at my finger and they started to turn a white color(WTF:eek::eek:) and then rank to the sink to wash my hands.

So yeah use a well ventilated area and use rubbing alcohol. Just my .02 cents.:)

i have read too many people have leaks and failures with ge silicone. personally i like the all glass brand it cost more but its what they use at the factory and i resealed my 125 haven had a drip yet love the stuff
