Hey guys, I have a 36"x16"x15" 40 gallon grow out/feeder tank that I got for free that I've used for a year now and it just busted on me. When I recieved it there was already some crazing all around the bottom seams throughout the tank. Then I was changing water out of it the other day and while at changing 50% of the way water, all of a sudden water started gushing through the back bottom center seam. My tank finally bursted!! Well I have some extra weldon #16 laying around and I was wondering if I can apply it throughout the back seam on the side it bursted open. Would this fix my problem and the tank can be used again as a grow out or a sump? considering its only a 40g. I'm not too sure if this would make things better or worse but I was also actually planning to apply a heavy thick load of weldon #16 and maybe apply it throughout the whole tanks seam where every acrylic bonds together. I came to a conclusion that this tank failed due to poor tank stand structure. It was a homemade tank that had uneven structure causing stress on each corner of the tank leaving a lot of weight bearing in the center of the tank. Which resulted to the the tank bursting from the center. Thanks for reading this post, any opinion is appreciated, I just want to hear everyones thought.
