Howdy Folks, so heres my question. I found a 100 gallon tank for 50 bucks, the current owner said one of the corners has started leaking. How hard is it to reseal an aquarium so that it will hold water? I would really like to take advantage of this, because I feel like its a good deal, but I am not sure how difficult or time consuming it would be to reseal the tank. Any ideas or commens would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

if the seals between the glass is okay then all you have to do is cut out the inside seam, scrape all the old silicone off with a razor blade and reseal the inside. There are videos and write ups on the details just do some searching.

the most important aspect in the resealing of a tank is not to cut corners, that is dont just squeeze some silicone onto the area which is leaking.
you need to totally remove the original silicone along the area of the leak, make sure everythings clean and dry and then add your new line of silicone. if you've never used a silicone gun before, practice on some scrap material untill you feel confident enough that you can get a continious line.
run your finger gently along the line to bond it to both pieces of glass and leave for at least 24 hrs.
before you start have a few things at hand, kitchen roll/ old towels, in case you need a quick clean up. And some tape that you can use to make sure the glass dosent move when you remove the old silicone.
good luck
