Hello! I'm a researcher at the Natural History Museum, London, working on the evolution of the vertebrate skeleton. One of my projects looks at how bone is repaired, and how this has evolved. My colleagues and I recently published a paper on bone repair in the fossil jawless vertebrate, Psammolepis (http://rsbl.royalsocietypublishing.org/content/9/5/20130144.short?rss=1).
I'm interested in looking at bone repair in recent fishes, particularly in the external (dermal) skeleton- Polypterus would be of particular interest. If you have any fish skeletons that show evidence of damage and repair, and would be able to donate these, I would love to hear from you.
Best wishes, Zerina Johanson
