Sup people, I know you don't see me around often but I am frequently reading all sorts of things on this site.

Recently I have been wanting to buy a large snake, ok, I always wanted a large snake but I can really find any good size information when it comes to male and female sizes. Every site I go to tells me how big females get. I know that males of giant snake species stay smaller but I want to know how much smaller. I am interested in the following snakes:

Burmese Pythons
Reticulated Pythons
Green Anacondas

I'm pretty sure that male reticulated still get to big because I saw a picture of a 16 foot male and I dont want to go that big.

Thanks

Burmese
Anacondas
Retics
African Rock Pythons
and Scrub Pythons all exceed 20 feet.
if you dont want something that big then maybe you want to go with a Boa or a Macklotts Python or an Olive Python.Olives only get around 12 feet long

Guess it depends on what you think is large..I had a male burmese python and sold him when he reached 9ft. You can always grow them slowly by feeding small animals on occasion. But like Boids said, the ones you're interested in, all get around 20ft. Is 5ft too small? Ball pythons are a good choice if you dont want them getting bigger than 5ft. I wouldnt suggest anacondas. I know the yellow anaconda doesnt get as big as the green, but has a very nasty attitude. You'll more than likely get bit by either of them-especially around the time they are shedding. Good luck with your new snake, whatever you choose.

I own a female macklots python and I know she will average 6-7 feet. I want something longer but not over the top. That's why I want a male, they are typicaly smaller, I just dont know how much smaller. I would love an olive python but they are 500 bucks here :(

I dont know much about the other snakes your refering too, but how is their temperment? By far the temperment of a burmese would be the best. I'd go with a male burmese if youre looking for longer and not larger. I'd feed him every two weeks or longer. In the wild they can go for months without food, ofcourse in between large meals.

yellow anacondas max out at like 13 feet.
there really arent many snakes that are in between 6-7 and 20-25 feet long
i wish there was but i cant think of any.

pm sent.

yellow anaconda males only max out at 7-8' from my research and are very slow growers.

you can keep a person small to if ya feed them small meals every so often.
you need to find a snake you are comfortable with size wise and feed what is needed.

o yeah do you have exp. with any snakes larger than 10' ?

First off I'm not going to stunt my snakes growth. That's rediculous, it will be fed once a week when young and once every 2-3 weeks when older depending on the size ofmeal it eats.

Im looking at a snake that will get 10-14 feet long and that isn't very expensive to initialy purchase.

Thanks
