Hey Restarted up my 75 gallon with 13 congo tetras and 2 female kribensis. Not sure what else to put in with them if anything, everything's peaceful right now. Transferred my old biological filter media (141 biochem stars) and prefilter sponges from a defunct canister filter (Marineland that ran for well over 15 years) to a new Aqua Top CF MKII Series which so far is working brilliantly though I've read some reviews of leaks as they get older. Any thoughts as to whether a group of tiger barbs might be an addition or would that be asking for the possibility of trouble?

I think a group of tiger barbs would work, maybe even add a group of cories or bristlenose plecos as cleanup crew too.

6 was all they had at the store when I was contemplating an impromptu purchase, though they were getting more fish in today. I have to think about it, perhaps will stick to an African theme after all. I do like tiger barbs and have kept them before, grumpy little $%!#! though. What I really want is more kribensis but apparently I purchased the only 2 in the entire state of Iowa and the only sources on line I could find for them are in New York and Arizona and California so safe shipping is cost prohibitive.

Ehhh. You've got the start of a nice African tank, Congo theme going on. How about a smaller synodontis like lucipinnis or petricolas instead of the cories? And maybe instead of the tiger barbs you get some African red eye tetras or if you can find some, some microctenopoma? Butterfly fish?

My wife has an African Butterfly Fish in her 20 gallon short tank all by himself. I thought about getting my own. My filter creates very little surface motion and they like stillness. I don't think she'll let me move her's into my tank. I'm not big on catfish though I've become convinced to stick with an African theme though. If I can't find more Kribs I'll probably just get more Congos.
