I have a 180 gallon tank that has housed 6 silver dollars, 1 Oscar, 1 Severum, 1chocolate all adult size and a NTT Datnoid 4inches for 8 years now with the dat being added a year ago. My Oscar just passed I assume of natural causes as all water readings came back good. I want to revamp the tank and here's what I was thinking. I want to keep my 6 Silver Dollars, I want to keep my Green Severum but add 2 more of different species (color), keep my Datnoid, get rid of my Chocolate that's about 14 inches and he's rare Coryphaenoides, and add 1 Red OR Tiger Oscar AND 1 Albino Tiger Oscar. Let me know what your feed back is as I have been keeping cichlids for a long time and have narrowed down what I want to keep. I will keep 1 Oscar if I have to but really want to try 2 hoping by a miracle I get a pair. I also have a 120g that houses 1 very mean Midas. Thanks guys!

If you are really into Oscars, go for it. But I've tried several pairs of Oscars, no luck. Sadly I've moved on from Oscars, and now have a baby Dovii (probably to me the most fun) but you couldn't get one unless you clear out your tank because they get MEAN. I would try a pair of Red Terrors (festae) as they are easier to breed and you could sell the fry for more than Oscars and they look gorgeous. Red Terrors are more aggressive and they both will kill everything when breeding, so keep a divider in mind for Oscars and Reds when breeding. If not into breeding, try an Arowana or Peacock bass. I love em and they have a great "personality". Again though they are aggressive and will get big. if you are not into any as listed go for what suits you.
