I would also borrow or buy the book, Cover Letters that Knock Them Dead. Made a big difference when I was looking for a position. And with todays economy, employers are looking for the most bang for the buck. Make yourself standout from the unwashed masses. And good luck.

I would relay a few things out on your resume! You need to put your employment skills after your professional skills. Most people glance through resume's so make sure the most important information is first on it. And I agree with putting the references at the bottom of it. The more information you can provide on the fewest amount of pages will help you out. And if you send out hard copies, try using different shades of paper rather than white, such as a paper with a soft yellow tint or darker for this will attract someone to want to pick your paper up compared to anyone elses first. And for all means please do a cover sheet to sell yourself before your resume. There are a minimal amount of jobs out there right now and with thousands of people out of work, this is your competition. I'd also recommend to see if anyone of your supervisor(s) might be willing to make a good recommendation or have any ideas of companies that might be interested as long as you have a good work ethic. This makes them look good and yourself at the same time.

Just a few suggestions! :)

skills list seems like you're stretching a bit. "telephone skills" sounds weird, and I'm not sure how to rephrase it. Instead of all the diff programs, maybe claim "proficiency with microsoft office suite" then list additional programs. Any honors in school? I prefer to give a bullet list of things I did with each job.

yeah, i changed it up a little bit and took the telephone skills off. i also put what i did at the jobs i did list on there. i changed my objective too it says "to obtain a position where i can use my organizational, computer and clerical skills to build a career" does that sound too cheesy or anything??

i got an interview at a nursing home i applyed for online soo.. its a start i guess.

thank you guys for the tips youve been very helpful!!!!!!!!!!

oh yea & daniel i did type up a fancy little cover letter btw =) thank u!!
