Retic feeding bahaviour question?

Hello again. Hope u can advise, my new retic has been eating well twice a daysince arriving 3 days ago.
I can see the reflection on glass bottom, of the ray chomping prawns, looks great. But usually he thrashes his body violently for spilt second and then carries on chomping way. Is this normal?

Also I noticed ray looks more defined with bulk around the region where tail meets the disc. Is this sign he is putting on weight? I'll post pics when my Internet is back up.

I read some sticjy threads and it say retic are the most prone to disease, is this cause of genetics or cause there least cared for during transit.?

everything sounds normal and good.... and the bulking up in that area means weight is being put on... and thats a beautiful thing... keep feeding it

yours seems healthy and they are not prone to diease its more they are cheap and not cared for as well as a more expensive motoro...

yeah my rays do that when they eat market shrimp. worms they eat like spaghetti
