Hi all mfk i recently purchased a reticulating stingray from my LFS $30 good deal i think . Anyhow its a young ray maby 7" from disk to tip of tail . He wont eat . I know this is a common problem with new rays. he has been in the tank for 3 days i put frozen blood worms in he goes over them but seems to just breath on them not actually cup them and eat them. Any advice will help. Since he is tiny he is in a 20L tank once he is alittle bigger i have a 125 gallon waiting for him . Tank mates are 2 baby ebjd's maby 1.5" 306 fluval filter tank is at 85 degrees all the time and water changes are done every 2-3 days . Any advice will be appreciated thanks !:)

These rays are cheap but very difficult to get feeding. Get some live blood worm to start with and gradually move him/her onto the frozen blood worm.
Good luck.

In that small of tank I would watch the water quality very closely. I would try night crawlers cut into very small pieces.

Ghost shrimp might work to get him eating ya that is a tiny tank to have that ray in might be stressed. No light for a few days and if you drop ghost shrimp in he will eat whenever he is ready and you dont have to worry about food waste and can leave the tank alone for a few days.

It's often tough to get young retics to eat. You might also want to try live black worms or earth worms chopped up. Keep in mind the ray has a really small mouth, so food will have to be small as well. Also, slowly turn your temperature down. 83 is really too warm. Good luck.

Yeah 85 is HOT! 78-80 is what my retic is in. Ghost shrimp works well if mine gets picky. She loves ghost shrimp!!!! Cut food in small pieces.

Try feeding live blackworms. My retics loved it.
I agree, water is a little hot too.
