water parameters are differnt for need between hardness and softness, Rays love soft water, fronts need hard water. thats the first thing I see, I would be worried if the front decided to pick on the ray.
the frontosa will not bother your ray almost for sure like most cichilds, but you should keep an eye just in case, and rays should always come first for they are a lot more delicate
ok I will watch to make sure that the ray doesnt get picked on but I have my ray in my african cichlid tank with a divider at the moment and nothing is wrong with any of the fish or my ray and ive had it like this for about 3 months. So if something were to happen wouldnt it of happened already?
PH for Fronts really only matter if the Front was born and raised in high PH... I have heard that the color is better in the higher PH but I am sure it would work out on PH factor...
heres a pic of my tank at the moment. I have a 135 gallong and plan to get rid of all the african chiclids except for frontosas. I was also thinking of keeping blue dolphins. I am planning on getting 2 or 3 more female retics for the one male I already have.
I would keep the peacocks too and ditch the dolphines... Peacocks are more laid back, if no females are there... dolphines can work, but IME they are more aggressive than peacocks...
so you would think the peacocks would be of to bec ive had them for about two and a half years and the dolphins for about 6 months and I plan to breed all the fish but i dont want my ray to get hurt so which one would you recomend?
