I have a reticulated knifefish that is about 6 inches long that I got at the lfs cause I have never seen anything like it before. Problem is is that I can not find any info on them. Does anyone know anything about them?

most likely papyrocranus afer. It grows up 30" and can be aggressive towards other fish.

They are probably one of the more aggressive Knives that are out there. Yes...30" in the wild, but probably more around 18"-20"

Even though they generally don't, you should still be ready to house it on the off chance it does grow larger then normal. Other than that it looks like their care is similar to that of a clown knife.

thanks for the help. Yeah, I have already noticed that he is aggressive towards my green terrors. How big of an aquarium should I build for him?

Ideally a 180 but if it stays at 18" a 125 could work.
