I have posted this to the knife forum, but this isn't completely knife related-due to the urgency I need to cross post...Here's the other post.

Long story short my 6-7" reticulated knife (think small clown knife that looks alot like an african brown knife) ate a freshwater hermit crab-maybe 1" dia by 3/8 thick. Now my fish has a shell that appears to be stuck in its stomach, there is a lump on either side of the fish and there is now sores on the tips of the lumps - the crab was eaten about 2 weeks ago with little if any decrease in the size of the lumps.
Will the knife eventually break down the shell? If not, is there any way to remove it before it starves? It still tries to eat (strikes) but hasn't (to my knowledge) been able to eat anything else for 2 weeks.
HELP!
