Ok, just to forewarn you, i am a total stingray noob, so please don't flame me for stupid questions.

Would a 55g suit a reticulated stingray for 2-3 years? (please don't kill me)

how fast do they grow?

What kind of a diet do they require?

Thanks

I believe "teacup" is a generic word for baby rays. I think they are usually rectics though. No, a 55 gal wouldnt work for 2-3 years. Blackworms, ghost shrimp, then try to get them to eat raw table shrimp, or cut up fish chiunks.

Depending on what they are eating now. Rectics/tea cups, for me, was the hardest to convert to other foods. So, feed the retic what it was eating from the store for about six months, then try to convert. As for them living in a 55gal, 2-3 years....it's a iffy. I had mine for a year and a half. It was 4'' in diameter when i got it, a year later it was 5'' in diameter. So that being said, a 75gal would last you 2-3 years.

I had a rectic outgrow a 180 within 3 years, sold when 15" and still growing
Do you have a picture of the Retic at 15''?

jake sold them to a guy in my area, months ago. I saw them in the guys tank, (another member on mfk)
Yes, it was 15 inch. Together with a full grown yapezi.

I kept a 5 inch retic in my 125, and whilst it could have been ok for 6 months or so, it just didnt seem right... Or fair on the ray. A 55g is just too small.

So I sold it. No more rays for me, until I upgrade to 200g
