ok i finally got that damn wet dry working!! I put in an overflow by CPR it kicks ass but there are fine bubbles blowing across the tank. How would I get rid of this

I run an external pump the water line in the sump is about 3 inches above the bulkhead. It is running fine but somwhere it must be picking up air. It blows tiny bubbles all over it looks like particles floating around the tank. I tries plugging up the 1/8 hole that is above the water line in the return pipe

If you have an external pump you need to use teflon tape on the threads or they can blow fine bubbles.

Why is the pump above the water level? This could also be part of the problem.

I had a lot of problems with mine when I first got it going.

A couple of thoughts... you need to have a 90 deg fitting on the intake so you don't draw air from the surface and I would look hard at the fiting at the pump intake.

no it is probably even with the level of the sump I used teflon at all fittings also

You need the pump to be completely below the water level. These pumps only move water and will cavitate if they have to pull the water into themselves.

My pump will blow bubbles through it if the water level is close the the bulkhead in the sump. Sometimes you can see it pulling a small "vortex" and it lets some air in. If thats not the case I would think that its pulling air from a fitting somewhere.
