I have an emperor 400 and I use the bio bags that fit it. What I am wondering is after every water change I have been rinsing them and reusing them for at least 2 months before I replace them. Is there anything wrong with doing so?

er wait nm you said canister filter....edit out..>.>

i use my bio bags for my hob filters till they fall apart.. just wash them off as they get gunked up.

Instead of using bio bags I use womens stockings and just stuff it with whatever media I am using. Muchh cheaper than buying bags from the aquarium store.

Oh cool thanks guys! I dont mind purchasing the bags because they seem sturdy enough to last a long time. I just never knew you could rinse/reuse especially since I thought a friend claimed you couldn't (guess he is now credited out haha). seems like the tank is much crisp and cleaner when I do rinse them anyhow.

I use nylon paint strainer bags to the same effect. Sponge inside, the mesh around it, cram it into my HOB so it blocks water.

Good advice guys! I have already purchased the bags a while ago. I did my last water change and I took apart the filter and washed everything and sprayed the crap out of the bags. It made all the difference in the world. When I don't rinse eveything the water just never gets as crisp or as clear as when I do.
