Considering buying pros and cons please for 180 gal small fish community tank, livebearers, catfish, gouramis etc

They are ok, but I would personally got with an ac110 instead. The 400 bio-wheels can stick and sometimes the flow rate on the spray bar gets clogged also. I have used both and would use the ac110 over this, but that is just my 2cents.

The 400s Ive owned have always been a little noisier than i personally like

they are decent, def cheap, and can get loud humming or vibrating occasionally

not my favorite filter, I think bio wheels are the least effective bio media

Gotcha. In that case it would be a nice source of extra filtration. I would also look into the AC110.
