Well, a few months ago I had a major tank crash due to a fluctuation in the quality of the towns water supply, I love my volitan lion, harlequin tusk, all my inverts, and was just feeling rather defeated by the saltwater tank. I moved the remaining two fish I had (a lunar wrasse, and snowflake eel) to my 75 gal, tore down the 125 and let it sit there for a while.

Last weekend I began rebuilding the 125. I added about 100lbs more liverock from a friends tank(s) added a sump system, upped the lighting a bit, put in blue LEDs, added higher-powered power heads which are attached to a battery backup unit in case of outages.

This weekend, I dumped the fish back into it. keeping an eye on the parameters. I used as much of the old water/sand/rock as possible to cut back on the dyoff. And the few corals that were attached to the rock I got from my friend are looking quite perky.

Current inhabitants are: lunar wrasse, snowflake eel, bristle starfish, volitan lionfish, a few mushroom corals, polyps, and xenia that were attached to the new liverock.

Thanks! I'm gonna get some more picture this weekend. I'm also getting a big bunch of anthelia from my friend I got the rock from this weekend, as well as a little more liverock, and a big huge nasty tomato clown he's been trying to fish out of his tank for a month now (he's switching to a bigger tank)

here's some more pics with the corals and stuff.... And one of the few good pics of my wrasse I could get (he doesn't like to hold still for pictures.)
The green spikey thing that you can't really tell what it is is the bristle starfish. him and the eel tend to hang out in the same cave.... the eel likes to steal the extra shrimp right from the starfishes arm.

I am convinced that your Lionfish is not a "Volitan". But infact "Pterois Russelli" Russell's Lionfish, due to the lack of Banding on the Fins. Nice fish in its own rite.

Yeah, I was kindof suspecting of the same, but then again I'm not 100% sure. Either way, I like this fish.
