I posted a little while ago about what to put in a giant lizard enclosure and didn't achieve much, so I wanted to ask another question. Does anyone know if it is possible to keep multiple rhacodactylus sp. In one enclosure? I was thinking some sort of mix of ciliatus, chahoua, and leachianus henkeli. Woud that work? Like 1.1 leachianus 1.3 ciliatus and maybe 1 chahoua or some mix like that. The cage is 6x3.5x4 foot(500 us gallons) , so plenty big enough I just don't know about personality. My other options for the cage are 1 red tegu or some black tree monitors or other smaller monitors. What are your thoughts

It is my understanding that leachianus in particular are solitary species and are incredibly picky about their mates. Bonding between pairs isn't automatic and, if a M/F don't tolerate each other, one can get killed. Housing two leachies of the same sex together also can result in injury or death. For this reason, I'd be reluctant to put any animal I cared about with a leachie. :) Also, leachies get significantly larger than cresteds and chewies, putting the smaller species at risk for predation.

In other words, I personally wouldn't do it.

I agree. Cresties are the only members of the Rhacodactylus genus that seem to do well mixed. Many of the other species are territorial and fight when kept together....even in pairs. Now there's always the exception but for the most part they should not be mixed unless you're briefly attempting to breed them. I know quite a few Rach breeders and I don't think any of them have ever had success (or even wanted to try) mixing Leachianus. I think if you did go through with your setup you'd have a bunch of lizards with missing tails and one big fat Leachie!
