I have always been curious of these CA catfish sp. I have always wanted to keep nicaraquensis and or guatemalensis. I am looking for any info like size, tank size and care. A few years ago I was in Costa Rica and I saw fisherman catch 2 foot long catfish and was wondering if that could be a Rhamdia sp. Anyone have experiences or info?

That's my R. quelen: http://www.planetcatfish.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=30204&hilit=+rhamdia

IDK if this is close enough for you and what you'd like to know. "I am looking for any info like size, tank size and care." - I am sure you have done your homework just not sure how much is known for nicaraquensis and guatemalensis.

Thanks. Your r. Quelen is nice. There isn't much info out there on them, but maybe I should search planet catfish.

Little info there (water parameters are mentioned though) except a bit on quelen, apparently as the most common in trade. http://www.planetcatfish.com/common/species.php?species_id=872

Nicaraguensis: http://www.fishbase.org/summary/Rhamdia-nicaraguensis.html

Guatemalensis http://www.planetcatfish.com/common/species.php?species_id=1618

http://www.fishwise.co.za/Default.a...s=Rhamdia_guatemalensis&SpecieConfigId=220684 This has a nice collection of literature. Guatemalensis looks to be barely (?) different from quelen.

Thanks! Unfortunately there isn't much on them.
