There are some native species that are pretty cool... not as cool as chalcosoma though.
Check out something like Lucanus elaphus they aren't illegal just hard to find.

I have a dead one i keep in a medicine bottle, my grandpa found it in his yard here in florida haha. Always wondered how it got here.
