Rhoadsia altipinna (profile)( the photos are not mine about them on the Internet)
Rhoadsia altipinna is a very predatory and aggressive fish that will protect his territory by all means necessary.
L location in natural habitat: Ecuador and West Columbia.
Adult size males get to be 8 inches and 6 for females.
Husbandry Requirements: water chemistry is unimportant. It's a robust already active swimming species best maintained with other large aggressive species like cichlids and others. (A friend of mine's out of the country also got them to breed he keep his in a tank with red terrors from Ecuador for example)
Diet: the diet should consist of high protein foods such as live fish, fresh shrimp and aquatic insects. They also will accept Frozen Foods, pellets and flakes
Personal comments:: this is a Holy Grail fish from me. I have been looking for this fish for over 30 years. it is an amazing fish and for a Tetra it is very personable and very cichlid like and it's Behavior.it is best kept in a large aquarium with cichlids as tank mates. There should be no more than two males per 90 gallon aquarium they are very territorial and we'll defend it with their life.. this is a very beautiful predator with outgoing personality a true dream fish for all.
