Rhom 66 gal?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
well if u are talking about a Serrasalmus Rhombus a.k.a Black Piranha.

no they dont get 5", they can get closer to 20". But that takes a while.

they usually grow to 6" + inches in the first year. then 2 inches every year after that.

your best bet if you really want a p. Then go Serresalmus Sanchezi.
Red Spilo Piranha

they only get about 6-7 inches tops. You can keep one of them in a 66 for life.

what are the dimentions of your 66?, it's very unlikely you could keep a rhombeus in the tank for life. in captivity they rarley reach over 18", and that takes many many many many years, they grow on average about 1-2" a year. with a rhom the size you'd most likely be able to house it in a 66 for a LONG time. but eventually if you kept it< (unlike many hobbists who get bored of them because they won't grow) then you could upgrade to a 75, and then mabey a 125- 6'x18" footprint, if it got over 14". most people get bored and then just decide to buy a larger rhombeus.

A fish that i have walways wanted is the Rhombus pirhanna and i can now get a 5" one for £30 which is a great price near me, and the only tank i could have one in is a 66 gal, could one live in it for life? Or a long time? It would be on its own. What do you think?

I definately think that it would be fine for a very long time, GL$30 for a 5" is good price being u don't gotta pay for shipping

you'd easily be able to keep a rhombeus in the for life, plenty of width, and ime they don't need any more than 48" in length as adults. good luck with your rhom.
