My Rhom won't stop attacking his reflexion. He is starting to get that white bump on his lip because he keeps bumping into the glass. How can I get him to stop???

Is it the front of the tank or the side???? If its the side you could always stick a background on it,.
is he new to the tank?
if he is he'l calm down after a while and as for the chimple once he stops it will soon heel.
also rhom are aggressive like that when big any way and most have the chimple,mine has it from trying to attack me from the otherside of the room.sometimes they touch the glass with there mouth and the start swimming against it

Chimples are real common with Rhoms. Like stated before, if he's rubbing on the sides of the tank, put backing up on the sides. My Guyana rubs everywhere on the tank because when hes not biting his reflection, he's chasing people. Sometimes they grow out of it, sometimes not.
He's new, just got him 3 days ago. He's attacking all sides of the tank. Even when I walk in the room he starts up again. Well hopefully he will grow out of this.
yeah i had a big vinny that did this- he attacked his reflection on the back wall--- typical backgrounds dont work, they will still see the reflection--- you would need to either paint a background or line it with some sort of solid material? i used real thin slate along my back wall and it works perfect-
He's in a 40 gallon Oceanic tank. 20 inchs wide and 20 inchs long. It's just for a month a two till we tile the basement and relocate the "fish room". I already have 9 tanks down there.
