Rhom growth rate

Hey all,

I just got my new rhom and hes about 3 inches, I was just wondering what i should be expecting as for growth rate. I know there slow growers but how slow? I have no experiance with rhoms this is my fist my other p's are a elong, Piraya, and a red belly.
How long till he get about 6"

took mine 2 years to get 5 inches, but that was with goldfish. and only 10 goldfish once a week. Now Im giving him fish parts, and shrimp and nightcrawlers and hes grown about an inch in three months. But I hear they really slow down after six inches. Which is great for me, I specifically bought a rhom so it wouldnt outgrow tanks every year. I hope you have other fish to keep you entertained. When they are small they are pretty boring. and spend most of there time hiding when there is any light source. Sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night and can see him swimming all around. If i turn on a flashlight or anything he immediately goes for his hiding spot.

they should grow pretty fast until they hit 6-7" or so. I bought a 6.5" rhom before in about 3-4 months it grew to 7.2" when I sold it. my other 6" rhom grew to ~6.5" in 3 months so with proper care, feeding and water change and filter cleaning they can grew pretty fast.
