Just got my new rhom in, he’s acclimated, not super active but still spooks easily in his new digs. I tried feeding it some tilapia pcs but not eating yet. Any tips for getting him to eat? Should I give him a few more days and let him get use to me N his tank first.

Serrasalmus Rhombeus
8”
60g tank
Some plants and driftwood w/ sand substrate
No tankmates
Been in the tank for about 30hrs or so

did you ask seller what they were feeding? but patience is good too
Yes he’s a friend of mine
Tilapia, shrimp, night crawlers, culls from his cichlids, and live (frogs, bugs, small fishes that he caught, and the occasional pinky)

don't feed it for a week...let it adjust and get acclimated inside his new home. as long as this is s cycled tank with excellent water parameters you don't have to worry about anything. this is a solitary tank so no need for daily feedings. now if you have a mixed pygo tank then that's another story. piranhas can go a long time without eating...it won't die.
