Rhommys upgrade Q's.

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
32x18x16 is what mine is in. ive set a deadline that i will have his 6-7ft'er by the time hes about 8" (if not before, but that is the limit)
so depending your rhoms growth rate he could probly spend another 2 years in the 3ft'er.
btw... have you checked out that tape worm stuff yet too help speed up his growth?
im gonna wait till mines about 4" then hes gettin a dose:naughty:

the bigger the better. he's only 6" he will do find in there for a long time.

Rhom's should grow up to 9" quite quickly, its after that the slow down a bit. Big rhom's tend to be more active in smaller tanks (5x2x2) than larger ones! Water quality is the most important factor. Rhom's aren't as active as a shoal of pygo's hence the smaller tank.
You rhom will be ok in the 36inch tank for a while.

I wish but no.. Rhoms grow fast up to 4 inches and after that they grow one inch per year.

i don't think its logical to say that a rhom can grow to whatever size and then after that grow a specific length per year. i'd say it all depends of the conditions given to him.

i grew my 2.5" rhom to 7" in just under a year.

i'd say this was possible beacuse he was in a 90g since 2.5". rhoms can have more potential to grow, given provided space needed and top water quality. imo grow out tanks are a bad idea and will slow down growth rate. they should have space needed to swim and more.

if only my 5'x2'x2' tank was vacant i think my rhom could have been bigger than he is now.
