Can they be kept in a shoal or only by themselves if they can be kept together how many in a 135g?

One. That simple. maybe if you could have a few 1"ers in there but most likely in no time you will be left with one 2 inch rhom.

A pretty good rule of thumb is that if the genus name is serrasalmus it is not safe to try to keep more than one. They eat each other.
