I brought home a 7" gold saum yesterday and noticed that he had a little ich on him. So to stop the spread from the rest of the fish i put some ich treatment in the tank. The brand is Kordon and its called Rid-Ich. It calls for 1tsp per 10gallons so i put 5.5tsp's in. A few minutes later all the fish started acting wierd like swimming to the top and sitting there with theor mouths out of the tank and laying on the leaves on my xxl anubias plant, like nto even swimming just laying on the big leaf. So i started freaking... I just brought home a 35 dollar fish and he is rolling around looking SUPER SUPER STRESSED. So i put an airstone in the tank to try and get more oxegen in it, that didnt work, next i did a 10 gallon water change to get more oxygen and to try and get some ich treatment out, and they started swimming around again, sitting on the bottom but still look 100 times better than they did before. What did i do wrong with the ich treatment? I put the recommended amount in, so im at a loss at what i did. What should i do today? How much should i put in for the treatment today? What i did when my fish got ich, was did a simple water change, put the "rid-ich" supplement in the tank and bumped up the heat a little bit and it finally went away after a couple days.
