Anyone catch the documentary "Fiery Paradise: Great Rift" on Animal Planet? It was a pretty cool documentary about all the biological and geological diverstiy of the African Rift's land and water. It was two hours long, and a little over half way through they had some great shots of Malawi cichlids and the large nocturnal predators that feed on them (forget name, started with an N maybe, little help?). Anyway, cool footage that you don't get to see too often. Check it out. I'm sure they will be showing it again.

No, not Nile Perch. They were some kind of 5' long Mormyrids I think. Tail like an elephant nose and a face like an Aba Aba. The name they gave started with an N. I didn't think Nile Perch were in Malawi. May be wrong tho.
May I also suggest Jewel of the Rift its by National Geographic. It focuses mainly on Lake Tanganyika
