I picked up a small rimmed tank 56cm long 30cm high 30.5 cm wide going to use as a grow out/hospital tank it is a rimmed tank but where I am going to put the floor is tiled and some tiles are not 100 % level so intend to use some lef over insulation board which I would like to put the tank on so it won't be rocking on the tiled surface any issues in doing this with it being a rimmed tank.

Should not be any problem. However, a tank on the floor? How are you going to siphon water out? It will become cumbersome or will have to use a pump. Perhaps a small table or a couple of cinder blocks?

yes I used the insulation board it is just a grow out tank so not going to be used all the time I use a pump to pump out the water when water change time comes and refill using a small pump.

why use a jar the pump pumps the water into the sink in about the same time no water splashing on the floor.

I think he was pulling your leg.
