how long are they supost to live?...i have heard everything from 5yrs to 80yrs...i have one that is over 18yrs and another that is 15-17yrs...anyone know the average life span? my over 18yr old bird looks much older then my other bird...we have had that one for 18 years and it found us when it was atleast a few years old...

I have no idea. I use to keep and raise a few pigeon breeds and my oldest animals I had for 7-8 years before I gave them away. So I'm guessing they can live a lot longer than that but I doubt they can live to 80.

80 does seem high...the ones i have now have been going around the family...few years with my grandpa, few with my mom, few with my aunt, few with my grandpa again and not with me...one is over 18 years old and i am woundering if it would try to breed if i got a female for it...as it still goes after the other one like the UFC even when they were introduced to nutral ground...they looked at eachother for 5 seconds and then it was on like donkey kong...

ya it is more then that as when i was 4-6 years old(i don't remember exactly as it wasa while ago) it landed on my grandpas head when he was cutting the grass...it would come back every day to play with us...then it started to get to cold out so we go a cage for him and had him ever since and i am 24yrs old now...if i was 6 then, that is more 18yrs old for that bird as it was already a year or more when he found us...the other one is 15yrs or so and we got it as a mate for the other one and they have always fought...
