Just bought a Rio 2500 and I was wondering if anyone had any experience with these and how long i should filter them through with fresh water being that it was previously used on a saltwater tank?

i'd run a 50/50 warm water and vinegar bath for a bit and then a hot water run. you should be good to go afterwards.
they seem liek a nice pump. i have had a pair of them running since march. realize they dont flow much over 750GPH EVER and you will be ok.
as for the fresh through them.......no clue, i would like to think that 12 hours would be way more than you would need

Id let it run in plain water until it stopped blowing bubbles and then call it good- whats so scary about the salt water? its not like youve got a great white hiding in there, its just some salt
