Rio 400 help please

Got a 400 and the lights have packed up, changed the fuses and the tubes, no joy. Thing being I go on my hols on Wenesday for 2 weeks. Any ideas?? quick response would be appreciated

Well unless you have plants it really isnt a big deal. Did you check the electrical socket it is hooked up to?

Yeah everythings cool, just after 24 hrs the fish are hanging round the bottom, did'nt know if it was wise to risk it for a few weks or not.

They are probably just hanging at the bottom because they are not used to thier "night" cycle to be that long. They will get used to it. They are all still eating and everything else normal right?

Did you change the ballast it is the black box inside the light. It is probably your problem. Undo the light and get the ballast out tack it to the hardware store and they will get you a new one one the spot. You replace it and you will be fine. It is a very easy job, and it will take about 5 minutes.

you can always buy a separate light bulb and lay it next to the regular lights. doesnt have to be expensive so...
