Anyone order any from cichlids of America just ordered 3 trying to get a pair any pics would be appreciated

Rio Blanco Mota's pretty well look very similar all the time.
Males look different from females but they get a nice red color on them.
The biggest concern is that they are the most aggressive, (at their size of of all in their species complex).
In other words, a 6 inch Mota will kill a 6 inch; Dovi, Jaguar, Freddy, etc.
if the tank is not big enough or if they are breeding!
Once the Dovi's, Jag's, etc get bigger (Mota's only grow to about 12 inches where a Dovi grows to 24 inches).....then it may be a another story.

I have had a breeding pair of red Mota's on two different occasions and almost full size red devils and others were taken out.
The only ones that kept fighting them were Trimacs but at the end (a month later) they were losing too.
Then I separated them.

They should get their own tank and a divider.

You have an infestation. Let me know if you need help getting rid of some of those demons, I'm taking the family to Sea Isle next week so I'll already be in Jersey. Would love to adopt a handful of those beasts. Great looking fish.

That's not fair Mo, Lol, your photo skills are incredible!
But that is what they look like!
At the moment I have a 7 inch female and a 4 inch male in a 600 gallon.
They already breed once and all the roommates are larger, I didn't believe it till i saw the fry but the fry did not last.
They are still in the 600 gal but no caves at the moment (cleaning).
Their roommates are; two pairs of true red devils, two pairs of amarillo's, two pairs of jag's, three umbie spectacles, three Mayans, four trimacs and one extra large female gepherum.

I have plans of moving some out!!! soon!!!!!!!

But i'm sure it will explode one day.
luckily the mota's are not the biggest fish in the tank and they are all heavy weights.
So far so good.

Keeping a close eye on it!!
