So walked into my fish room this morning to a nice surprise. My Rio Candelaria salvini seemed to have formed a pair.
This has been a long time coming, mostly because the dominant fish in the group, has always been female and she has never really taking a liking to the dominant male. She would get close to spawning and then he would chicken out and she would trash him. Now she has bonded with the sub dominant male and it appears they are telling pretty well.
I'm hoping they spawn and the male's colors really come out as well. This is supposed to be a variant where the males display almost as much red as the females, which is hard to believe when looking at this female.
Anyways hope you guys enjoy. Sorry about the glare, a lot of natural sunlight in this room. I'm hoping they are still at it tonight and I can get some better footage.
