I have a breeding pari Rio Caroni. They just produced there first batch of eggs however, i had just put a small group of Severums and Sajica in there tank prior to finding the eggs. Now i can't get in the tank to take out the fish so i'm sure the fry will get eaten, but hey, at least i know i have a breeding pair. I am going to try to get into the tank tonight but i bet she eats the fry or some of the severums or Sajica do. In any event i'm going to at least try to remove the fish. I didn't think they would breed so fast lol. Oh, i should mention the eggs hatch and i have free swimming babies. Looks like alot.

Awesome!!! Congrats on the pair, hope you can save few babies!:)

I managed to get the Severums and Sajica out of the tank now i just have to wait and see what happens to the fry. There was alot of commotion going on in the tank when i was scooping out the fish so i'll just have to wait and see.

A general question - what's the best way to tell the different Guianacara species apart? I know geayi is supposed to be bigger but not much else.....for example, are rio caroni and red cheeks really the same species like Werner suggested?
