Rio HF series- Noise?

I am wondering if there may be a break in period for theses pumps? I have a 26hf that was noisey when new and quited down to a near whisper. When I first set it up, the return hose was laying against the sump causing vibration, so I'm not exactly sure if that was the noise or it was the actual pump.

I just recently purchased a 14hf and it is noisey as well. I double checked this time to make sure nothing was vibrating and the pump was secure.

Just looking for others experience with these pumps.
