Haven't posted these guys in a little while. Still have a couple hundred 3/4" fry growing out from them and they spawned again. I culled over 500 and there's still a couple hundred in with them lol. Male is Id guess around 10-11" and the female is around 8". Male is a little on the skinny side but makes up for it in attitude. I'm trying to wean him off of live foods and get him onto pellets. All he wants to eat is chopped up shrimp and earthworms.

That sure does look like one feisty male. I can't take my eyes off of the female though. What a stunner! Can't wait to see more.

Nice looking Umbee, what size tank do you have him in, I ask because I want an Umbee, but always felt like I didn't have a big enough tank...

The pair is in a 150 right now and they use every square inch of it. Very active fish. Once they put on a little more size I'll be getting them something around a 8'x2' footprint.

Good looking pair. Do you have any updated pictures of them? I bought 14 umbee's from COA awhile back and am needing to start culling some of them off, as the big male is starting to get pretty feisty and ripping on some of the smaller ones. How did you go about it? I was thinking a 5-gallon bucket and some clove oil but am open to suggestions. Thanks.

I do not have that pair. The male eventually killed the female and the male jumped out shortly after. Oddly enough I did just purchase a group from wet spot. And if there are no deformities I wouldn't cull. They're great fish. Give them to local hobbyists or a lfs

Man that sucks. That female was a real beauty. Totally agree, I don't want to. I live in KS though so there aren't alot of options. Tried calling a fish store up in Lawrence, but never heard back going to try a few in KC, but i'm not that hopeful.

Have you tried posting them for sale here?
