They are rewarding to grow out. I get attached to them since the feeling is like being a parents.

ya this is the only remaining cichla i have. The kelberis i had before are too skittish with the inmates.

It's about 12-13". I have a small 5x2x2 tank so growth is not the fast. They are fun fish to grow out.

I'm growing mine out in a 210g (6x2x2.5) and they seem to grow really slow for cichla. Doesn't help either they're pellet addicts, just tonight i found a small earthworm outside and threw it in the tank...turns out my silver dollars are more ravenous than my cichla. Been trying other foods but they haven't taken to them like they do these pellets I'm feeding. Trying to decide whether or not to mix in some live occasionally

How big are your orino? My orino will take chopped market shrimps. Sometimes i feed it tilapia. I tried not to feed meaty food too much since it foul up my wAter.
