After getting much input from researchers and native Costa Ricans, here is my tank.

40 gallon Breeder

Stocked
3 Cryptoheros Myrnae

15 Buenos Aires tetras--this fish looks alike to the Astyanax aenus, but unlike Astyanax BA tetras are readily available

5 mollies--look alikes to poecilia gilli, but again more readily available.

Decor
Rocks are placed as if they were in the shallow river
One small piece of driftwood
A gray sound substrate

Temperature: 82

Filtration is an Aqua Clear 110, which provides current to imitate the slower flowing river.

Looks really nice - I like the big river rocks. Any bottom feeders recommended for that biotope that you have considered?

I was thinking of bottom feeders, but the ones that were found with Myrnae would eventually eat them. (ie sleeper gobies and such). So I opted out.
Not bad at all bud.

How do you find detritus clean up ect, easy enough?
If I understand correctly you are asking about how I clean up the tank?

Yeah, it's pretty easy. The fish in this tank don't produce much waste and they scavenge for any bit of extra food that might have hit the substrate or rocks.
