Looks like a rio meta to me but we won't exactly know till it grows a little more

Not sure but my rio yucaos have alot of spangling all over their bodies. My other wc orino that is bigger did not have nearly as much spangling as these guys. My biggest rio yucao is roughly 6+" maybe a lil bigger hard to tell. My smaller one is still just over 4". Had to put the bigger of the 2 in the bigger tank wit my larger orino and big Bahia kelb.

My small group of (6) Yucao's have a lot more spangling, even under NO LIGHTING you can still see the spangling.

Still your fish looks nice and chunky & healthy, is it the only bass in the tank?

It's the only bass, yeah, bigumbeefan didn't have any more.

Doesn't look Yucao to me.

I owned 3 Yucaos from jeff Rapps import last summer and when they were the same size as the 1 I just sold to fish042099 they looked the same in terms of color and markings.

Houdini now has my prized Yucao out of the group.

I also had both the Rio meta and the standard colombian orino variant in addition to having Yucaos.

Having actually owned these various typs of orinos at the 3.5 inch size's and seeing these fish in person gives me a good sense of what my latest orino was.

I can't say 100% for sure it was a yucao but you can't say 100% for certain that its not either.

It does not resemble my past Rio meta or Colombian in terms of color thats for sure.

No matter what this orino is going to be a stunner when it gets bigger.

Give it a couple weeks and when it grows another inch then the spangling will noticably pop.

It was just beginning to pop in the dorsal fin when I sold it.
