pare, i'm sorry to hear about this. I just hate it when things like these happen. its so sad...

The endli has already eaten lots of stuff a BGK that was 3'' when it was 5''-6'', and African Butterfly fish that was 2'',
Sorry for your loss! 
Sadly I lost my ornate last weekend, moved over to a new tank, all was looking good, turned the light out for night time and 2 mins later, crash, slap wriggle on the floor, 5 foot high ish the tank stands from the floor!
Caught her and put her back in carefully, but sadly she didn't make it, 2 days later she was on her back and not moving, hour or so later she stopped breathing!
Very sad, grown her from about 2 inches to over 8" long and a nice width too, in just under 2 years!

endlis seem to be notorious for eating tankmates that are only a little bit smaller and they really shouldn't be able to eat.
