So after a year and 2 months my snakehead died :(, and just in time Quebec banned them. My brother fed the fish last night but forgot the lid open...so this morning i found my snakehead on the floor, solid as a rock. I tried throwing it in the water to see if it would maybe come back. But my tiles have a temp of maybe 2 degrees celcius now that its winter, so between being without water and slowly freezing he had no chance :(.

I'm going to miss you Galactus, RIPuploadfromtaptalk1357698785968.jpguploadfromtaptalk1351124534970.jpg

sorry for the loss man

You must be gutted. Sorry for your loss.

Has Quebec banned the entire genus of just certain species?

sorry for your loss. :( you don't know if, when they banned them if they did permits for owners who already have them? cant see them banning them with out giving owners permits to keep the ones they have, like when they banned large snakes.

ya that's what its called, but was wondering if they put it into effect, or if they just plan on killing all the snakeheads. I know here in BC they didn't give out one permit for Nile monitors when they banned them, they were going to people places that applied for them, took them to terminate them, read I big thing on it in the paper all those years ago,It took a public outcry for the govt to start approving the permits. sad as I had one I ended up giving away as a result to finding out no permits, and I wasn't about to kill my loved monitor. I hope they don't decide to go that route for the snakeheads.

Edit: the entire genus or just certain species.
