I lost my Silver today he was 6 years old. I was cleaning his tank on thursday and he freaked out and jumped. He has never done that before so I grabbed him real quick and put him back in the tank. He seamed to be swimming ok but was very stressed out so I turned out his lights and left him alone. Got home from work the next day and he was not lloking good died the next morning. I had him for 6 years he was 22 in. long. I miss my friend already. I am planning on getting another but was wondering about maybe a Jardini or a black if I could find one need other peoples opinions on this one. I have 125 gallon now and a 300 on the way it was supposed to be his new home. I am also planning on getting rid of the emperor 400 filter and getting another canister any opinions on those would be great.

very sad to hear this.. my sympathy......i lost one like this once too... 6 years.. you did very well...
 
Sorry to hear of your loss. 6 years is a long time, had one of mine for a little over that and the other for just under that time. Though mine are quite a bit bigger
 
I know I should of had him in a bigger tank , I had one ordered 3 years ago then I lost my job and very close to loosing my house. I was going to get rid of him after that but I couldnt do it. I figured he would probably starve himself to death he would only eat for me. I swear anyone could try and feed him but he woldnt touch it. I just had to hold a piece of fish in my hand and he would come and take it. I do want to get another but don't know which one to get have 4 choices Silver, Black, Jardini, or an African. What would you recomend?

Black if u get that 300 gallon. Jardini if you dont mind the possibility of only having 1 fish in a 180+ gallon tank.
